We were promised change and a better lifestyle
But promises were all that we got
We were dazzled with speeches and blinded with style
And change did we get…We did not
So our taxes go up and our jobs disappear
Paying four dollars a gallon for gas
Paycheck to paycheck we live now in fear
The forgotten and ignored middle class
