While serving as Executive Director of Where to Turn Dennis McKeon also works full time as a program manager. Through Where to Turn he has coordinated an effort that has provided information and support services to over 1,500 9/11 families. Since 9/11 Where to Turn has expanded this service to any victim of tragedy. Through an integrated website Where to Turn provides easy access to all available support services for any victim. A resident of Staten Island for over 24 years he has been a public advocate for many causes. He has created local projects geared towards addressing community needs while getting students back involved in the community. The Snow Shoveling for Seniors Program has provided free snow shoveling for over 2,000 seniors over the past 4 winters and the Changing the Face of Staten Island Program has resulted in the graffiti cleanup of over 150 locations in 2008 alone and the Academic All County Program honors student athletes who maintain academic excellence. He is currently planning a $6.5 Million Memorial on Staten Island that will honor those who died on 9/11 as well as those who came together in support in the aftermath of the attacks.
